I love Biographies, but writing my own!? Here goes....I'll tell you a very brief story about who I am and what I do.
I am Mikal. I was born in England in the 80's. The era that birthed magical synths, tacky outfits, and brown curtains!!
I was born in the midst of the Queen, Blondie, Cyndie Lauper, Madonna, Wham and Human League culture, and these are mainly the references I remember from my childhood.
The dream to write and do what they did was there from the getgo, and that dream never dies. I did a Dick Whittington and ran to London around my 18th birthday. I wasn't armed with anything, in fact I was pretty much homeless for the first 6 months of my time here, squatting and sleeping on friends' couches.
The only thing I knew I wanted to do, was make a name for myself in the world, I actually would like 'Fuck - he was amazing' written on my gravestone! So, London seemed the best place to start. I tried the audition circuit at numerous infamous venues around the City and it was pretty soul destroying. I found myself bored and when one day someone asked "why are you stood there like you just dont give a fuck' I knew that the manufactured thing wasn't for me. So I attempted to do it alone.
I started to create my own music and do things my own way. Which trust me, is one of the hardest things to pull off. You can create the music, but getting people to listen to it is a challenging gig.
I've wrote for some major television shows (I once had a track shortlisted for the American Idol finale song, cool eh), done some pretty cool commercials, and some fucking awful ones. I've also been lucky enough to perform in a couple of major motion pictures. And with my music, I've blossomed new friends in the form of good producers.
So now, I am working with those producers, mainly writing on my own and then developing my ideas into something light and fantastical.
I begun this journey a long time ago and took this a step further by releasing Crazy Day in September 2009 through online channels. Im not so hell bent on that song anymore. I loved it at the time but I kind of cringe listening to it now. I keep it up here as a reminder to myself of how hard I can actually work and what I can pull off when I put my mind to it.
I hope to release an album in 2010. The likely hood that it will be next year is high, as I keep changing my mind on stuff.
Thus I used to own the idea of rushing everything and getting it out there, that notion has disappeared and I am quite happy taking my time and getting everything right.

Just touched down in London Town
So I just touched down in London Town. Well, yesterday I did ,after a very long laborious flight from LA. I spent a couple of days in Vegas and am still feeling the effects!!
I didn't touch a studio whilst I was there either, which has left my balls aching to get back in and recording again. I love going to the US. I love the music out there and I left with some inspiration for some new stuff. I swear one day I will finish my album and get it out there.
Ciao for now, Mikal.

29th May 2010:
Sky One - Must Be The Music
I was in North London at 9am this morning auditioning for a new show that Princess TV are making for Sky One. It's called Must Be The Music. The quickest way for me to explain what its like is that its like XFactor but without the cheese and general all round evilness. It's based more on actual musicians who work their "craft" I should hear in a couple of weeks if I made the cut....fingers crossed.

Web pictures
Dear peeps, so I keep going through a website regeneration! I think its the creative angle in me. I've decided it will probably always be this way, I love photography and want to use lots of different images as my backdrops....the current one is a photo of the New York skyline!
17th May 2010:
Michael Harbron
This is actually me, I've decided Im going to dedicate a section of this site to the actor within. For years before I actually started down the music scene, I was an actor. I appeared in a few commercials on both sides of the atlantic. Appeared in a few movies, one of which was Ali G's InDaHouse and have done numerous fringe theatre. Needles to say my headshots cost me a fortune so that alone is worth the dedication :)
